For enriching the activities and enhancing communication, Party Committee Propoganda Departments, Literary Federations and Music Associations from Shanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Qinghai and Xinjiang jointly held the 3rd
China Northwest Music Festival, the 2nd Panda Music Cup Foping Folk Songs Tournament with special invitations to Guizhou, Sichuan and Henan province. On behalf of Guizhou Province, Han Linghua from GUES competed with over 40 outstanding singers from other 8 provinces and districts in Foping, Shanxi province. The singing from Qian mountains impressed and surprised both the audience and judges, Han won the Golden Prize at last.
For the purpose of carrying forward the traditional culture and inheriting the core value of the folk songs, this competition aims at exploring the origin, developing, reforming and creating of folk songs, making people appreciate the charm of them and recall their eternal rhythm of the spirit with deep emotion. Classified as loud, sharp, rough and vigorous, folk songs from the Northwest, exclusive, non-replicable and irreplaceable amongst the whole magnificent Chinese nation culture, demonstrates an extremely distinct regional feature. Whereas because of the mild weather, the Southwest is full of green hills, clean rivers and lush forests, folk songs here then must be mixed vehement with soft characteristics, which is also unparalleled.
Han stroke her first pose with 3 primitive ecological songs: Ballad of Water sprinkling, Whispers of Leaves and Bees Fly to the Blossoms. Her singing fully manifested the lingering charm of Southwestern folk songs, and brought the fresh and vigorous melody from our campus to the grand region of Qinling.
